Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Completed my first Century

I completed my first Century at the 38th Horsey Hundred yesterday in Georgetown Kentucky. Great ride fantastic SAG stops. I'd recommend the ride to anyone looking for a great century ride.

That is all............

On a sad note, for the first time in the 38 years of the event there was a fatality during the ride. A rider was struck by a Hit and Run driver at the 99 mile mark of the 102 mile ride and sadly lost his life. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at a trailer park and charged with DUI. Ride safe guys and gals

Congratulations on a nice accomplishment!

I read about the rider who got hit by an irresponsible driver. That was very sad and shouldn't have happened.

Congrats! Happy to hear you enjoyed the ride, especially the rest stops (My buddy and I were in charge of rest stop logistics).

The rider killed was a friend of mine. There is a dedicated thread on the subject in the A&S forum.
