Does anyone here have a colossi frame?
I am looking to have a steel frame built up and I was trying to get an idea of what the community thinks of them. I know of the brand through the fixed gear forum, but I haven't heard much of their road frames.

I don't know but it looks sweet, not a bad price. Columbus Zona is a little heavier but it's bulletproof.

I could have made a couple of different/better choices with the spec, but it rides and looks great.

I have not seen them before but it looks pretty nice. I am only 6'02 so I can buy just about any frame but for taller people this is a great option. You do not see many companies making frames all the way up to 66cm.

Those are some expensive frames considering they're made in China. How's the quality?

Any thoughts on Columbus Spirit? I was told that the frame I was looking to build works best with Spirit tubing.

I've heard very good things from the fixed gear community. From what I've reviewed they hand build all their bikes with quality tubing, however I've never seen one of their frames in person.

My frame was custom. We chose the geometry and the tubing, but to be honest it wasn't far off one of their regular sizes/styles that I guess you could call it 'semi-custom'.

Bikes are made in Shenzhen, just over the border from Hong Kong where I live. LBS did most of the work dealing with them. Couple of minor issues, mostly related to how quick they would get back to you about stuff. Much of the custom work was only co-ordinated via the owner, so when he was busy (all the time!) things could slow down.

They run a few different lines. Production frames for other brands, production frames for their own name, and a full custom workshop off to the side.

Owner is a Dutch ex-pro rider who really loves his work. His son looks to be following in the footsteps.

At the time I got this I was riding for a HK team that was sponsored by Colossi, so anyone in the team who wanted a frame could get a good deal on one (amateur club, we didn't ride team bikes).

I got my frame, I am quite happy with it so far. I need to get a Di2 groupset from Merlin soon to build it up.




Columbus Max tubing. Relaxed geo. I went with a larger diameter headtube, doesn't flow as well, but I wanted the stiffness. (I'm 6'3, usually ride a 60cm frame)

Pretty much. I have always loved the rear triangle look of the GT frames.
