How do you all organize your gear?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

LOL! I just bought one of these, but a smaller size (great deal for $10!) for my cycling clothes. I had stuff in a box in the bathtub of my guest bathroom. I cleaned up the rest of the bathtub and my pissing cat got angry and pissed in the box of clothing. I picked up one of these pee proof things which sits in the tub. I love all my Sterlite pasticware. Made in the US and overall decent quality (if you don't try to use this as a tool box, you'll be happy).

My cycling stuff and tools are splayed out on the kitchen table and in the specialized bike repair area in front of the TV in the living room.

This is a very nice, clean look.

When I'm home I use one of the plastic storage bins. I put my helmets on top of it and all other gear in drawers. I hang my jerseys and keep bibs in a chest drawer.

When I'm traveling I use this and it works well, has a check list so I don't forget anything;

Thanks! This is a good idea, and one of the reasons I wanted to start this thread.

Pretty much where ever I drop them after coming in from a ride. Although my clothes, including shoes, generally, but not always, have their own corner of the room. Know where everything is - KISS.

My God, you all have it set up well. I have my parts separated into boxes by part and compatibility (shimano and campy are separated) but my jerseys, gloves, shorts, and socks are in a clean laundry pile, with all my other clothes as well. My helmet is cast on the ground near my bikes, which are gently laid against the walls throughout the house. I really should do something like you all though.

I use something very similar to TenSpeedV2, neatfreak?Organizing Furniture?UPTOWN 12 Compartment Cube Cabinet picked it up from sierra trading post pretty cheap a year ago and I find the cube organizers to be very useful for cycling gear, I highly recommend something like it.

I got something like this and it hangs in the closet next to my jackets, jerseys, etc. One box gets a helmet, the other one flat repair kits, mini pump, food, another get gloves, another gets arm and knee warmers and various other cold weather accessories, one gets cycling caps, etc. It's worked out pretty well and is a big step up from one overstuffed, unorganized drawer. It's all right there, organized and ready to grab, no drawers to pull out (though they do sell drawers sized for it if you wanted to stuff one with cycling specific socks or something).
