Lockable hitch pin
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had used a lockable hitch pin and could recommend a brand. I was looking at this one Reese Towpower 5/8 in. Sleeved Lock Dog Bone Receiver-7005600 - The Home Depot

It would be fine. Don't forget to oil it, to help weatherproof it.

So the real reason I want this lockable bolt is to be able to easily remove the hitch from my car once I have returned back home from the ride. I don't like the idea of having the hitch attached to my car all the time. Plus an extra security doesn't hurt.

I bought mine from here many years ago: Hitch Lock Hitch Accessories | etrailer.com
I don't see the exact model, but it looks a lot like the first one on the page.
Never had a problem with it.

I use and swear by the Trimax hitch pin https://www.amazon.com/Trimax-T-3BLAC...king+hitch+pin I keep it on my truck year round and have NEVER had a hiccup. BOOM!

Get one with an anti-rattle option to bolt the rack to the receiver. Takes an extra 20 sec (and wrench) to remove, but makes things more secure.

Whichever one you get, keep it lubed up. I used to sell them at a hitch shop and probably cut off a third of the ones I sold to people just because they did no maintenance.
