Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The latest seat bag

I ride somewhat long, and lead group rides, so like to be prepared.

Here's the latest set up including minimalist Tufo tire (thanks Hueyhollihan).

The whole business weighs 671g (water bottle= 750g) including the two toe straps.

Includes: tire, pump, CO2, patch kit, levers, tool, pliers, chain tool, valve cores & tool, valve extensions,

poker, zip ties, knife, sewing kit, tape, gauze pads, band aids, money, paper & pencil.

This is the tubular tire bag that I made ca 1970

With a Tufo tire you could use a sub-$20 tubular tire bag and fit most of that stuff in it instead of that monstrosity.

Well don't come crying to me when you need a band aid or your chain is trashed out on the road,

my monstrosity and I are miffed!
