Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yep, if you look up your account online, you will see two sections of CC activity, posted and pending. The pending charges have been reserved against your available credit limit, but they are not officially charged to the account. Sometimes the amount that is pending is greater than the actual charge as in the case of restaurants where the final amount isn't determined until the tip is added in. Also sometimes hotels.

When i first opened one of Addiction XX topics someone asked about what is this topic about and another member replied it's all about riding in the rain and since that day i didn't open the thread because i don't like riding in the rain. Since that day I was thinking "wow they have so much to talk about rain".

It was a nice light mist for my rain rides today.

Did not bite it in the wet leaves. (knock on wood)

There was some rain here today. I did not ride today. But it wasn't about the rain.

So you've never ridden a Raleigh Sports?

If you really wanna get the flop, jump on one of those OCC Schwinn Stingrays.

Those wheel reflectors sort of vaporise the muscle image.

100-mile ride with 6000 feet of climbing. I chose the wrong bike -- the Ti triple would have been better than the 39-27 lowest on the Merlin CF. And I really should have paid closer attention to the spacer for the cassette on the freehub -- the rear derailleur rubbed the spokes in the biggest cog, and I was dreading ripping the whole lot apart. Fortunately, that didn't happen. But the bike will be up on a stand tomorrow and that vital little spacer will go on.

The weather also didn't play and nicely as it could have -- we had light showers that required stops to put on/take off jackets, and there was a cold headwind for the final 60km. But otherwise, we are pleased to have made it within the time limit. All part of the rebuilding process. I am headed off to a bath, and will return to mini-choc brownies. Yum!

Cold and windy. But no rain. Time to ride.
