Free at last. What would this forum do without the cycling magazines and online ads to fuel all the debates and arguments around here about the never-ending stream of obscure and arcane topics. Not to mention all the "Latest and Greatest - Can't Live Without" products that somehow we've managed to happily live without for decades. |
Never heard of flop until it raised its ugly head here.

At one of my prior jobs the customer service department would authorize credit cards and I would then charge them 1-3 days later when the item shipped and I generated the invoice. Once in awhile we would run into issues on larger or custom jobs that would take a bit longer to manufacture and the authorization would drop off before I had a chance to charge it. Another issue I would occasionally run into was the customer would add to the order and the price change would be outside of the allowable increase in the charge or C.S. would forget to add shipping. In any event it was really just a matter of having C.S. reauthorize the card, but since you cannot legally keep customer CC data on file it means a call to the customer to get the information again.

My bicycle insurance tribute thread was way too subtle.

this morning i made avocado mousse for breakfast and i dont even feel bad about it. 1 small avocado 2 tbsp cacao powder 2 tbsp coconut yogurt 1 tbsp maple syrup blend, eat, profit. |
RIP Gene Amdahl, the father of the mainframe computer.

I always assumed that flop was in the steering, like you pick up your bike and your handlebars flop to one side or the other.
Which is why they make a deflopinator... http://www.amazon.com/Velo-Orange-Wh.../dp/B006VERHKA |

Which is why they make a deflopinator... http://www.amazon.com/Velo-Orange-Wh.../dp/B006VERHKA It took me nigh on an hour to accomplish this parking job with water bottle and U-lock on my bars. https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3861/1...592e19f0_k.jpg |
with the bag on my trek, the only time i notice it is when parking (i.e.^) or when going no hands, which is either impossible or requires too much concentration to be worth it
take the bag off and ill ride no hands for miles and miles while looking around at the pretty flowers iirc the deflopinator is for "shimmy" (i.e. steering damper) and for parking |
Hi, I'm new here.

Even with a heavy bar bag I don't notice flop while riding much, but parking can be a *****!

You just missed yesterday's entertaining ethics debate and trademark 41 brouhaha. |

Live with what we have, and make the most of it, but I am happy we have lots of products that people lived without in ye olden times, albeit in generally shorter and more brutal lifetimes. |

Athens80. No I'm talking about the bicycling "innovations" - disc brakes, tubulars, and electronic shifting.
|
The cruise was excellent. A very nice trip and I did manage to avoid foreign jails. I nearly achieved success in giving my children away. We met some interesting people from other countries, including a couple from Tallahassee, Florida. I watched some really bad basketball players who thought they were somewhat decent and I rode Flowrider surf simulator.
