Yes, it was quite chilly this morning. We southern Arizonians aren't crazy about thirty-anything. :notamused:

Once you get used to riding in 110+ degree heat, riding in the 40s sorta sucks.

+1 We've had a few morning in the 50's, but no 40's yet. It's coming.

I might do the canyon before we leave. It's seriously cold up there. An overnight low of 10 forecast for one night coming up.

The past few days has been the beginning of the cool weather, so I'm not used to it yet. Next week will be back to the low 70s again, and high 40s overnight.

last minute choice to change to 2.15 instead of 2.35's was a good one. these are the absolute max this frame can fit. dented the chainstays a bit for some more clearance

have you checked for flop?

I'd guess massive flop going on, just by eyeballin' it.

I love 40s riding. That's part of the reason I left PHX, though. It's only really rideable in the winter.

BillyD 11-28-15 07:49 PM

I could see myself riding evenings after sundown or very early mornings in the furnace season.

Mumonkan 11-28-15 07:56 PM

waiting for my Park Tools FG-1 Flop Gauge to come in from amazon prime, the holiday screwed up shipping times

BillyD 11-28-15 08:00 PM

The holiday season is a tough time to find flop gauges.

Not for me. I love 90-110, but 60-90 works too. Above 115 is really hot, but it's usually only a few hours a day.

We start our rides in the warmer months at sunrise, not only to avoid the heat, but there's much less traffic on the road. The ride is usually done by 11ish which leaves plenty of time to get on with the day. When the temps drop below 50* we might delay the start an hour to let it warm up. Just depends on the group. I don't ride in the middle of the day.

Dannihilator 11-28-15 11:44 PM

I'll go out in any conditions, except when it dips below 30 F.

I'll ride in any temps/weather, but I definitely prefer it to be on the hot & sunny end. I love the feeling of sweat running out of your body like a spigot.

Cold and snowy weather sucks, but if the streets are plowed, it won't stop me from riding.

The boy quite enthusiastically decorated the tree this year, hanging the majority of the ornaments himself. He was proud enough of his work that he requested that I take a picture of it for him -

Somebody should start a thread titled:

Did you ever dream you would spend $1K to $10K + on a wheel(s)?

That is an even bigger shock to non-cyclists

WhyFi 11-29-15 10:11 AM

Thanks, Addicts - I'll pass along the compliments.

Nah, that's on the opposite side of the room. That reminds me, though - my dad saw my fb posts on my audio rack project and let me vulture through his dusty vinyl collection on Thanksgiving. Took about 40-50 records off his hands, mostly classic rock with some 80's stuff mixed in; I had no idea that he was (seemingly) such a big Moody Blues fan...

Oh, also: a recently-shuttered record shop just reopened on "Eat Street," a 4 or 5 block stretch that houses a dozen great eateries along with my favorite doughnut shoppe. I can already imagine a morning to myself: stopping for coffee and doughnut(s), flipping through vinyl for a couple hours and then sitting down for a lunch of bahn mi, or pho, or tacos, or Jamaican beef patties, or spaetzle, etc, etc before heading back home.

If you buy one, and then sell it quickly, is that considered a flip-flop?
