Ever hit 47 mph on a Hybrid ... ?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What? If he said he did it then he did it. People don't lie on the internet. Good job!

Nice adherence to Rule 48.

Gravity is your friend... My xtrabike weighs 50 pounds on on descents it is a lead sled.

Fastest descent I have ever made was at 90kmh / 50 mph on my road bike... the road had runaway lanes for trucks.

Throw the bike off of a 15 story building... it'll be going faster than 47mph when it hits the ground.

it is perfectly doable. I did it on my Kaitai (47 mph) going down the north side of Flying W hill in Colorado Springs, but the bike had 32 slick Armadillos. I got close on 45 Armadillo Crossroads although it just felt bouncier and louder.

Some guys on mountain bikes can go faster than that, in spite of the tires and the non-aero position. If the bike rolls well and the hill is steep and long enough you'll go fast.

On The Scar I saw one guy flying down on a gravity bike... it takes some courage (or craziness) but some people have it.

What road did this accomplishment with a 48T chainring and off road tires take place? What's the grade? I want to look it up.
