To honor another Star Wars episode's release today here's a few jokes:

Q: Why did the angry Jedi cross the road?
A: To get to the Dark Side.

Q: What do you call the website Chewbacca started that gives out Empire secrets?
A: Wookieeleaks

Q: What do you call a Mexican jedi?
A: Obi-Juan Kenobi

Q: What do Jedi use to view PDF files?
A: Adobe Wan Kenobi

Ok, I'll stop. :)

That thread is a train wreck.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I did not mean it that way at all. Train wrecks are high comedy.

Mumonkan 12-18-15 06:33 AM

theyre seriously still making star wars movies?

Doug28450 12-18-15 06:34 AM

I think they are remaking them.

George Lucas get everything he could get, so he sold the franchise to Disney. Now, the mouse has to remake everything to get the last piece of cheese from people's pockets.

That's a lot of cheese.

They're scheduled to release a remake of Ghostbusters in the summer of 2016. Good way to ruin a classic. Running out of ideas.

I have a cold. Stupid stupid cold. Still in the sore throat runny nose stage, but I skipped today's run and slept in. Hopefully I take it out quick since I enjoy breathing and not coughing incessantly.

I'm definitely excited about the Star Wars release. I've got tickets for Sunday. I was a huge fan of the original (obviously). Lots of folks are still shell shocked from the prequels and are either expecting this new one to be 100% awful, or are just being really cautious. IDGAF and am really looking forward to it because it looks amazing and I really liked the two J.J. Abrams Start Trek movies, so I know he'll at minimal make a really nice movie.

Not happy about the Ghostbusters thing. That was one of my huge favorites growing up (I even currently have the GB lego set on my Christmas wish list) and I only slightly tolerate the existence of Ghostbusters 2, because it has its moments. When Harold Ramis passed, and with Bill Murray never on board, I really, really thought they would just leave well enough alone. But NOPE! Let's put a lot of really talented funny ladies in a rehash that is nearly destined to disappoint.

Speaking of Bill Murray, if you are a fan I highly recommend his Christmas Special on Netflix. I watched it not knowing what I was in for (Bill doing a hackneyed late night show style Christmas show?) and was very pleasantly surprised.

I never really got into Star Wars I was born in 1979 so I kind of missed that train. I only kind of vaguely remember seeing them as a kid and I never rewatched them when I got older. I haven't seen any of the new ones.

I had one that sounds like yours, lasted about 3 annoying weeks, just recently departed. Never got real bad, but the annoying, sleep-disrupting coughing at night was a major PITA. No problems during the day, just when you're trying to sleep nights.

First cold I've had in about 5 years, though. I credit the flu shots for that blessing. :thumb:

I was born in 82, and Return of the Jedi came out in 83. But my dad was a fan of things Sci-Fi (Star Trek in particular) and movies and TV in general, so these things got seen.

I saw the first Star Wars. That was epic. Have seen none of the sequels, but I think I'll survive. :)

RollCNY 12-18-15 09:37 AM

Star Wars was the first and only movie that my father would pay for us to see twice.

When I decided it was a cold I told my wife that I never get colds and she told me that I say that every year when I get a cold.

If it gets annoying at night I'll just take some nighttime cold stuff. The sleep isn't as good as normal sleep, but it's better than no sleep.

Nobody in my family or friends circle (not to be confused with Alltel's plan) were avid movie re-watchers.

Did you go see datlas?

WalksOn2Wheels 12-18-15 09:42 AM

BillyD The first one wasn't even the best! Most people say Empire Strikes Back is their favorite. I kind of vaguely remember watching ROTJ a lot as a kid, but really hardcore fans tend to despise the Ewoks, which I of course loved as a kid.

The prequels were really, really rough. I tried watching Phantom Menace a few months ago and couldn't get past the pod race scene.

I also tried watching the "Lucasified" original trilogy with all the unnecessary added CGI BS and I couldn't make it past the Mos Eisley scene in the first movie.

No, but I'm thinking it was passed to datlas and me by BillyD who probably didn't wash his hands before typing in this thread. If I were you I would watch out!

Doug28450 12-18-15 09:46 AM

I saw the first Star Wars movie. I did not pay to see any of the others, but, I did sort of watch some of them in bits and pieces on tv.

LAJ 12-18-15 09:46 AM

Never saw a Star Wars movie, but I did try once at the drive in. All the couches were set up, the beer was flowing, and the projector burned a hole in the film. We went street racing instead.
