anyone running a deeper front wheel?
anyone? pictures?
I have heard the front wheel is much more important for aero.
I have zipp 303 wheels, but the front is pre-firecrest and rear is FC. Thinking of getting 404 firecrest front, not a big difference, 58 vs 45mm.

The majority of mismatched has the less deep wheel in front for better handling in wind. For example Zipp has the 304 set where 303 is in front and 404 for the rear.

I ride with a few guys that use this exact set up.

Correct. If you have two rims of different aero-ness, putting the most aero on the front will yield the least overall drag. Of course crosswinds affect the front wheel more so most run as wide as reasonable for the conditions in the front and wider in the back, and this is what looks normal to most. Weight may be a factor too, and deeper rims weigh more than shallower in the same model line. Going narrower in the rear can save some weight while not having as large an impact on drag.
