I actually wear a bright red jersey to make sure I get seen. Seems to work....so far. Knock on wood. ;)

I like black. Here's my '01 KHS Flite 800 - small tube Reynolds 853 steel and my '04 Scattante CFR Limited Editon.

Black does not show touch ups as much as some colors. It's also easier to make a spray can job look decent in black...............

Mine (langster) is a funky black-ish gunmetal color, eh I think yellow w/yellow tires would be cool, but that's the color it comes in. With stickers, all is possible though!

I'm not a big fan of just flat black. I like a deep grey, gunmetal grey or carbon with a visual texture.
My roadbike's nude carbon black... with the weave pattern of course. :) I also want to show off my newly built black homemade repair stand that I constructed for under $40. ;) http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/albums/b..._001.sized.jpg My MTB is mostly nude carbon black with a weave and multigrain finish. http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/albums/b...0013.sized.jpg I also don't like components that are totally black. For instance, the cranks on my MTB while annodised black have a slight purple tint to them. The XTR groupset is that matte gunmetal grey. The chainrings on my RB have a similar colour. I see that Campagnolo is releasing Centaur in a polished gunmetal colour. I think I'd prefer that finish over polished silver. Of course I'd prefer the carbon finish of Record over all. ;) |
not built yet, but I'm going mostly black on my bike...

I have a black bike which I truly love to own and ride. But it is not my origninal black Schwinn World roadie which I gave away a short time ago. I now own a simple, (still black) folding bike which is more my style at this point in my life.

mmm... black :D |
I know mine's not quite in the big dollar category as the one's above, but it is black. I love to ride it but must wipe it over after every ride as it shows the dust something shocking.
