Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The thing that upset me the most, this is a low travel road out to a local lake. The guy was literally a quarter mile from the stop sign, passing the guy with the camper probably saved him a total of 30 seconds travel time.
I hear you -- when there's all the time in the world for someone to time a pass so there's no issue, they act like you're literally not there -- I see this shti in rural areas myself from time to time. I doubt the guy saved any time. Even if he had eased up for a few seconds to do a safer pass, he probably would have gone that much faster afterwards.

Haha, exactly!

Everyone's in a rush to go nowhere these days.

your closest call while riding...

My wife and I were out for a ride one day. She was behind me and flatted. About a quarter of a mile up the road my phone started ringing. She wanted help. I think that is my closest call while riding.
