My new Jamis Eclipse!
Greetings all! I've been an avid lurker for quite a while. I've been riding an old Bianchi Brava for about a year and a half. I started riding at about 300 pounds and I'm now down to 225 and still dropping a little each day. I happened across this leftover 61 cm NOS 2002 Jamis Eclipse and picked it up for probably too much money I've been looking around for a real nice all steel ride in a little higher quality than my workhorse Brava and I just had to have this as soon as I found it. Last year before they started sticking in the carbon fiber pieces.
Here's some photos (best I could do, very cheap camera )
I'm a little nervous about riding on those TOO-nice Ksyriums at my size and weight so I am most likely going to have some nice 36 hole Open Pros laced up for me. I did take a ride or two on them and they are extremely impressive but I'll save them for special occasions My Brava's Alex rims have taken a beating for sure under my heft.
I'm very excited and this bike is almost too beautiful to look at for me. Enjoy!

Beautiful. Don't let it out of your sight, because it is red, steel and my size.
I love the proportion of the frame.
Enjoy that bad boy.

No kidding. That is very, very nice. As much as I marvel at the latest technology in carbon fiber bikes, and Titanium , etc. There's just something about a quality steel ride. Looks like you found one.
Happy riding.
Happy riding.

Really beautiful bike. Don't just admire it. Ride it.
I weigh 220 and I'm riding Vento G3 wheels. You would think that they would be too fragile, but they are staying true. And they ride sooooo well.

Sweet bike. Thanks for posting the pics. I rode a Jamis Comet for a year before a car broke it. I loved it and I am sure you'll love your Eclipse too. I see at lot of Clydesdale guys riding Elites. I think you would be OK on them if you keep the spoke tensions right.

Congratulations, that's a beautiful bike! Now you can ride a great bike and improve your health at the same time. Who says you can't have it all?
