high cadance = lower speeds ?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i was reading here and felt it myself , that higher cadence reducing the load on the knees,
but it's reducing my speed as well
i cannot maintain the same speed if i'm going to high cadence. sometimes i can but it's really depends on the terrain.

maybe the fact that my bikes got only 10 speeds is the reason ?

Your statement makes zero sense without specifying a gear. Otherwise it could be true or false.

If you mean that you cannot maintin the same speed with a higher cadence compared to when you do lower cadence on a different gear. You need to work on it.

Otherwise 3xdot.

You should be able to maintain the same speed by spinning a lower gear faster than you would a higher gear.

I switched to a higher cadense style of riding this season 85-90 rpm and noticed the same thing my speed droped. I however can go for longer rides, knees don't hurt anymore and quicker recoveries. My speed has been to improving, keep with it, it just takes some time.
