Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is auto-pause turned on? Are you using a wheel speed sensor? When does it happen?

Yes it's the wheel speed sensor. The one that mounts on the hub. It just started Monday. The auto pause is turned on too. I just replaced the battery in the speed sensor a few weeks ago

check if your Garmin is recognizing the speed sensor.

and you just replaced a battery.

I've seen my 510 forget my HR strap after swapping a battery.

I changed it a month ago. I was riding Saturday and it kept pausing. So I took the battery out, dropped the sensor twice. Replaced the battery Sunday. So far so good. Most of the time when the battery goes dead. The speed would jump all over the place on the Garmin. And that threw me off, because I didn't see any the mph jumping all over the place and plus I just changed the battery too a month ago. Thks

What does "dropped the sensor" mean?

Today, I added a wheel speed sensor to the front hub (and cadence sensor) to one bike and rode it using my 510. Auto Pause is on. The Pause is acting normal, as is the speed, it seems. No problems here. I hope the speed sensor ends up being a bit more accurate that the GPS or whatever it otherwise uses.

Anyway, does your pause come on frequently while riding along? Maybe email Garmin and ask if they have seen this before.
