I have some grey (gray) hair. Of course, I didn't have very much at all until I went in to the 50+ forum for about 20 minutes.... I could feel my hair turning coloUr, and I had a sudden urge to go to McDonalds the next morning for breakfast and coffee.

Yep. Haute Cuisine for me.

Ain't that the truth.

Are they a welcoming group? Usually a new place is less intimidating if you go there with a friend or two.

I have a fair amount of grey/gray ( both spellings acceptable) but fortunately fewer and fewer each day. Course the downside is that fewer and fewer hairs are the cause.

I think I can do without the tattoo at this age.

Some good news on the elephant front: China has recently agreed to outlaw the ivory trade, which should significantly effect the poaching industry.

Yeah I read that, bout time. They are truly amazing animals, the only animal known that apparently mourns their dead as we do. The tattoo was a concession, not something I needed or particularly wanted but it did make my daughter very happy. My wife?......not so much so.

Oh and Billy, thanks for the message, obviously the problem worked itself out some how. This has happened before for short periods of time.

They are truly magnificent creatures, love them. Their sense of family is wonderful to observe.

Had to drive my MiL to Delaware for a family handoff. I figured I should swing by the Performance bike shop for tax free shopping. Then it hit me, I don't want anything except better weather and time to ride.

I need some tyres and probably something else.

Socks. Socks are always the answer.

I will keep these in mind for next time.

That thing would be perfect if it did bacon, too!

Hopefully that will come successfully, but getting the food out of the old one in preparation is a pain, especially when you then don't actually get the new fridge.

Bah.

5 doors??

I'm in my mid thirties, and have plenty of grey on top that I don't care about. But the few (dozens) stray gray hairs in my beard are NOT COOL.

I hope to never own a fridge with more than two drawers. And preferably no buttons.

jtaylor996 01-02-17 12:16 PM

Diet is going OK so far. Sucks being hungry all the time, though.

The worst bit is I haven't ridden yet this year. I was going to go yesterday, but figured I'd have time for a much longer ride today instead. Storms last night and now the trails are closed :(

Maybe they'll dry out in the next couple of hours enough for that long ride. Fingers crossed. If not, maybe I'll take the road bike out.

Also, my MTB's BB is making really heinous noises. Only 300 miles on that thing, but it grinds like crazy already.

How many of y'all do your own BBs? Should I start to tool up to do these myself (assuming it's needed often), or just go to the LBS?

Jadesfire 01-02-17 12:34 PM

I enjoy having all the tools necessary at hand in my own garage, and I buy on an as needed basis. But, it's a long drive to my LBS and my bike's a complete Frankenstein and a pain for anyone else to work on.

patentcad 01-02-17 12:37 PM

All dressed up and nowhere to go.

I repack/replace my own BBs. These days most bikes' bottom brackets usually just get replaced and it often only takes a couple of tools (Crank remover and BB cup remover).

That's a pretty short service span! Did it get submerged?

Sometimes not-so-parallel BB shell faces can wreck BB bearings fast, so you might check that also.
