Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I developed a hole in the toe of one of my Swiftwicks during the ride.

You should blame it on your wife. Can be used for leverage in divorce proceedings after what she did to your wool base layer. Would recommend deleting this post ASAP.

Looks like Herbie is now in the group (or someone else in Texas who is a Serious Cyclist) and averages over 200 miles a week. We have no hope between that and Zwifters.

I always put sugar and cream/h&h in first.

Also, this reminds me of Underappreciated Cycling Tip #32: when riding, and especially when wearing gloves, it's much easier to peel bananas like a monkey.

How do you get 60+ miles on on a weekday, mid-day? Are you currently stay at home dad'ing?

Only for the last 4 years.

Really, though, Wed is the only weekday that I can get out on ride - wife works a 4 day/wk schedule and has Wed off, otherwise the baby has me on a short leash. Through the summer, I'm going to try to get in moderate length (for me) rides on Weds and shorter rides (20-30 miles) on Sat/Sun so that I'm not missing too much family time when the boy's home.

Zwift should not count. Can't that be fixed?
