Helicopter tape.

Here it is for a very reasonable price-

Should I get two rolls or do you think that one is enough?

Using some quick math... 36 yards of tape at 2" wide should cover, what, one of your fork legs? Get 4 rolls.

I'd prefer 10 mph to a 10% cushion. It's nice on some of the 85mph interstates, where you can go 93 without getting a ticket. But in school zones you can get a ticket for going just 2mph over the limit.

Driving: Agree with stick. Agree with 9-3. Agree with keep right, pass left.

Sadly, this is likely out of sync with 95% of the drivers out there.

The most exciting part of the trip was heading out to sea. Very windy. Rough seas. We were in a 25' Boston Whaler (IIRC). There were four of us and only two fit inside. The two young guys (me and my friend) got to bounce around in the elements getting soaked. Good times.

We finally gave it up and turned around. Never made it out of Pamlico Sound.

A friend of mine from my restaurant days in Miami somehow finagled her way into becoming a "fishing model". She happens to be blond and tan and all the other good stuff and loves fishing, so she left a career as a realtor when she realized charter companies would pay her to pose with bonefish and snapper and the like since she's really into fishing and one of the few young ladies who enjoy the sport. If her photos pop up in my FB feed, I scroll quickly past.

Must be a tough life.

TIA.

I believe the stuff bike manufacturers ship with new bikes is mylar film. You should be able to get it in sheets or rolls at the hardware store.

No death grip. But you gotta be ready for those cross winds, when driving the Jeep on the Thruway.

On our way though WI last month, there were a couple instances where I was in the right lane and there were no cars in the lane ahead or behind for a good half mile in each direction, despite the fact that there were 20 cars within that range. It was rather stunning.

Kinda diggin' the white scheme or creme scheme on this one for coloration.

Speaking of lane discipline, it is one of the little pleasures in life when you come up behind a car in the left lane, and before you even dab the brakes or adjust cruise control, they signal and move over quickly.

Those people get a wave for actually being aware of their surroundings.

You car guys may be aware of the Sultan of Brunei's car collection. Something like 5,000 super-exotic cars, most of them never driven. Lots of duplication among his fleet.

That "carbon wheels just because" thread is reminding me of that.

Hmmmm. Seeing mostly bird deterrents and sign stickers.

I read your words, but I just don't think I'll understand until you post a picture...

You can get it by the foot on eBay.

I am still not sure what to think of that thread. Odd to say the least.

The ENVE sock saga continues. Now occasionally, you can get the socks in your cart without seeing everything in everyone else's cart, too (which is all socks). But when you apply the code to get them free it either says not valid code, or it empties your cart.

I will not stop until I get my free socks, dammit!

"High winds" and "wind gusts" are pretty regular all the way from Rock Springs, WY to Troutdale, OR. The mini van got whipped around a little but didn't bother me much. I wonder how bad those Sprinters are in the wind.

Yeah, but honestly they probably didn't belong there in the first place. Keep right, pass left. Right?

I just buy the kits of it designed for bike use. Already cut for the chainstay and several circles and ovals. Not unreasonably priced. Not home now so I can't check the brand.

I'm all about driving 30 miles for instant gratification.

Yup. Unless maybe they're in the process of passing and they bump it up a notch on your approach.

Frankly though, if someone is actively passing, and then they move back to the right when safe, I don't care if they're going only 2mph faster than the passee; I don't care if they "ruin" my cruise control, make me step on my brakes, etc, I'm not going to tailgate, flash highs or be an ahole in general - they're using the lane as intended and good for them.
