Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Do you know what's the status of the other limited editions? Are they all sold out? Just curious, not like I'm looking for another one or anything.

To the best of my knowledge this is the only one that is pretty much gone. If you can find one you are in luck. The sagan replicas are scarce too but not quite as this one. Blurple and American flag we don't even know when they will be released. I have a feeling the american flag one will sell out quick. If anybody here is wanting one, you need to place an order previous to seeing it. I believe not even all dealers get to see the ones they order since they are all VERY Limited, including the non-redhook ones.

Delivery on the blurple has slipped from late July to late August on the dealer's website. Dammit, have to wait another month!

Still not sure what to do regarding bartape and bottle cages. I was thinking black tape but maybe something colorful would work. No idea on the cages. Maybe just some steel ones. Oh boy, too many decisions. Still need to grab a handlebar too.

IMHO... that frame should be the center of attention, so black out everything else. Would be a mess otherwise.

I have to say that thing is gorgeous but anything but black components doesn't look great on this bike.

The black w/American an flag fork has a lot of potential. If I didn't have one already I'd seriously consider it.

That's the only one I don't like, but I'm not American so it's probably just that. The black with checkered fork one was nice.

I love the paint schemes on all of these and would jump at a chance to own one.... But, does it not bother anyone else how the cables rout around the bottom bracket?
It's probably just me but it just looks tacky. I think it's because I have a Cervelo S1 and it routs cleanly through the frame and tight under the BB.

The way these frames are made would make it pretty difficult to route the cable through the BB. the entire BB "bulkhead" is three pieces: the two right and left halves are brazed together around the BB shell. Each half of the bb "bulkhead" uses the DSW tech-bit where the tubes are all welded using a shelf joint rather than a butt joint. because there's a flange hydroformed into the bb "bulkhead" it's difficult to get cable pass-through regions to match from side-to-side and between the bulkhead and downtube.

Oh no.

I had reserved a Red Hook model and somehow missed the email asking for size and a deposit, sent back in May.

Doubtful I'll be on the list now. ._.

Yes, the cables bothered me a lot. Then I realized there was an obvious and elegant solution...

Always thought white would look good. I also think silver components would be great. The red hook one has them and it works.

We just got three chameleon purple frame sets in, including mine. The dealer website shows availability in September, but they're here now, at least some of them. Unfortunately for me, I crashed three weeks ago and broke my femur, so it'll be at least another month until I can ride it. I'm building it up with the 5800 I took off my Ridley Fenix, plus some new parts. Hobbling around with a walker isn't speeding up the process.

Not yet. I'm not in a hurry to build it since I won't be able to ride it, and I'm ordering a Praxis BB to go with the new 5800 crank I just got and the BB probably won't be in until next Thursday or Friday.
