One good source of electrolytes is potato chips. :)

Sure but the $1.50 bag of potato chips is 500 kCal and a Nuun tablet is 5 to 10. If you just rode a century, bring on the chips, but there's also that short after work loop on a hot sunny day.

Didn't know this bicycling business was so complicated.

I did a charity century where they were serving salted cod at the rest stations. One of the more experienced riders recommended that I stuff a couple of the filets in my bidon to replenish electrolytes. I finished the metric quarter distance in under 5 hours so I think it was solid advice.

We did something like that with the school lunches in grade school

& we never ran out of energy, so I guess it is good.

The center of gravity was way off thanks to the mass of the salty filets, but I adjusted accordingly and never dropped a bidon. I'm a pro.

Should I have one shifter or two?
