Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

34cm drop bar

So far my Google-fu has been failing, and I'm coming up with dead ends and discontinued products.

Need a 34cm drop bar for my 8 year old's bike. Got her a kids/24" drop bar bike, but the bars are 40cm...WAY too wide.

Point me in the right direction?

no idea where you'd find that. But if you can't, you could consider putting crane creek speed bars on the existing bars?

I'm seeing notes that Soma makes a 33cm Mini Drop Bar Kit.

Bart Kid?s Road Frame Set | SOMA Fabrications
Lisa Kid?s Road Frame Set | SOMA Fabrications

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing where it is available separately. Perhaps write to them or give them a call.

I believe 38cm bars are pretty common, but won't gain you a lot.

My 24" Fuji Ace is at my Mother's house. Perhaps I'll snag it in the next week or two, and could see what is on it.

Perhaps a bike shop that sells 24" bikes could also get the parts for them. Maybe.

I sent SomaFab an e-mail, but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully soon.

I dunno if the emails all go to the same place, but you might try contacting Merry Sales too.

Good advice.

If I come up blank, I've found a Bontrager and a Specialized in 36cm, which is a great improvement, even if it's not perfect.

FSA also makes a 36. A lot of money.

I used the Salsa Poco 36 for my 8 year old. I have a 26 center pretty beat up. PM me next week and if all I have to do is drop at FexEx Kinkos or UPS in San Clemente you may borrow them and send them back in 3 years.
Getting ready for a trip now, else I'd do pics.

I have not read it far enough to know the handlebar measurement. They claim to have child specific narrow and short drop handlebars.
Have you checked this:

Frog Road 58 - Kids Bike Review - Cycle Sprog

Good luck with the search.

I was at REI yesterday. They had a Novara 24" bike with some pretty small compact drops on it.

Anyway, it might not hurt to hit up some of the local bike shops, if they carry the bikes, ask if they can get the parts.

I was browsing E-Bay, and there are quite a few 36cm drop bars of varying price.

Bontrager Comp Aluminium Handlebars 36cm wide, 31.8mm dia/ 118mm Drop/81mm Reach | eBay

NEW Shimano PRO PLT Compact Road Bike Handlebar Drop Bar Black 31.8 x 36cm 360mm

Rare GB Ventoux Drop Handlebars Early 1970s 36cm (o-o) 25.4mm | eBay
