Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And kudos for not having the vette photo turn into a speedometer.

Ironic that would be.

No discs on the new bike?

So I'm 59 years old, perfect credit score, then yesterday I bounced the first check in my entire life. Wrote a check to the IRS and then spaced out and forgot to transfer the money from savings to checking. Either they routinely re-deposit it (that's my assumption) or IRS Blackhawk choppers descend on Mt. Doom and the IRS Commandos repel down the ropes, apprehend you and whisk you off to Guantanamo for interrogation and overly spicy Cuban cuisine designed to intimidate you further still.

It's possible. You just have to sit on hold for an hour.

Equipped like my Z-51 Stingray, the sticker was $10K higher, but the drive it home price was about $13K higher. Porsche was higher quality (Porsches are the highest quality cars sold in USA at the moment in my opinion) but the Corvette was only 20% crappier, not half as good as it was with the C6. And the Corvette motor is (much) better. The Z-51 Stingray is also faster around a track than a Cayman S (I can cite a couple of sources for that). The new Corvette is so improved in so many ways, just more world class. You can make moves in my current car that would have put you in weeds with the C6. That being said I did love the Cayman S. Great friggin car.

911 GT3 RS.

My point about budget is that a base C7 is going to be faster than a base 911, or even 911S.

To get as fast or faster track times to a Corvette, you've got to go way up in price point in a Porsche.

Actually they are pretty decent folks. I got a notice telling me a I had filed my partnership return late and assessing me $390 penalty...$195 for each myself and my wife...er, partner. I knew I had submitted it on 4/4, eleven days early. What I didn't know was that the due date had been set back to 3/15 for the first time this year. The only way to know was to have an accountant or read the info on the tax form or software. When a I told the guy I had not even bought the software until after 3/15, he zeroed out the penalty for me. I thought that was pretty nice on sue it only made sense, but he didn't have to do it.

You can easily use 1st time abatement to waive penalties if the entity being penalized is current in taxes (partnership would always* be current since it's a pass-through entity) and you haven't used the 1st time abatement in 3 years. That's almost certainly how they waived it, although typically you have to specifically ask for it.

The bright side is that you'll probably lose weight ****ting yourself in the clink.

Damn. You sir are a stick. What's your power to weight ratio (if known)? I actually don't know mine but I'm 6"1" and 230lbs. So I won't be beating you up a long climb either, I'm afraid.

I don't ride with a powermeter, but I suspect my power is pretty weak so my power to weight ratio is ok but not fantastic.

When I ride with big guys like you on my club rides, the short hills the big guys seem to find a way to power up. The longer the hill (more than say 1/2 mile climbing) is where the light weight really seem to help, I am able to somehow stay out of the red zone longer than most.

Thanks. Good to know. The abatement wasn't mentioned, but I ageee. That was likely how it was done.

The IRS has no transparency.

Ah, yes. They do that. It's a courtesy disconnect so you don't have to sit on hold. Probably some bureaucrat's brilliant idea to reduce hold times.

Edit: when I used to call them I'd use the paid preparer hotline. Lower wait times and better staff. You're not a licensed professional though, sorry.
