Any skinny guys on Fizik Alliante?
Thinking about a new saddle for my h2 madone . measured my sit bones and come up with needing the medium size around 142 width . I am moderately flexible with locked knee bend coming to about mid calf . I have 30" waist and weigh 130 lbs . I am considering the Alliante . Are there any skinny guys here that like that saddle or is it pretty much for lard butts ?

the aliante works well if you don't like to move around on the saddle much, i switched to the antares after a few years because of this and haven't looked back

I have used an antares my sit bones measure around 115 +-5 area. I am currently on the spec toupe but saddles are so personal. I'd say find a place to test ride one or buy one on eBay and re sell it if it doesn't work

I've been waiting for this topic. I'm 6', well almost, 5' 11 and 3/4". I currently weigh 165. Best measurement I've done on sitbones is 105mm. I have pretty poor flexibility. I own a Aliante Gamma, Aliante Regular, Arione, and Antares. I currently run the Antares on my back up bike. On my main "go fast as I can" bike I run the Aliante regular. I run 10.5cm drop from middle of saddle to top of handlebar on my go fast bike.
Hopefully still considered a skinny guy, but the Aliante is the most comfortable. It doesn't disappear underneath me, but no saddle ever has. The Antares I prefer for weight, but find it painful on century rides after 50 miles. The Arione is my favorite looking saddle, but it hurts. The Aliante is bliss compared to the other two. It's a bit vain, but I think the Aliante Gamma looks MTBish on my road bike, which is why I have the Aliante regular.
I've sliced and diced these saddles, and will be glad to give additional input.

Well, I'm a 190 lb lard butt and I like it and have them on two of my bikes. Oh but wait, I also have Arione's on two other bikes that work even better. And then there's the two bikes equipped with Fikiz Kurve Chameleon saddles that I like the most. Dang, this lard butt is so confused..... I didn't realize it was only allowed to ride the Arione.

Don't understand this comment at all. If a clyde asked if a saddle was good for other clydes, would their be a problem? I doubt it. So why is it a problem for a skinny guy to ask if a saddle is good for skinny guy. Folks just look for ways to get offended. If someone is a clyde it's a fact, nothing to be offended about. Same goes for someone being skinny.
Maybe it's b/c folks find the OP used the term "lard butt". If that's the case, I still think folks are waaaayyyyyy too sensitive.

Oh yeah, well as a old lard butt .....I think it's funny the parameters he set.
Fizik markets the saddles based on flexibility not on fat or skinny. Flexibility is really not that much of a weight think or fat or skinny thing at all. The whole last sentence really wasn't needed. He defined width and medium flexibility. So to me that means an Antares or if wanting to try an Arione get the large for the required width.

I loved the Aliante initially. But, it is less supportive than the Regal I'd been riding, meaning that it is doesn't make enough contact with the hard body areas. It also spreads the contact area to softer tissues that we know are not meant for such a task. You also cannot move around on it. I went back to the Regal. Very supportive especially for climbing. I am 135 lbs 5 foot 8. I measure the Regal at 148 mm.

The Arione is a better saddle in terms of riding positions and comfort. I'd consider that one over the Aliante. It's not that it's more expensive, it's just that the Aliante with it's horned rear...well that can be no fun The profile of the Arione is more or lace a race oriented saddle, but it makes weight distribution on the bones quite comfy.
It doesn't matter which model in terms of weight or rails...so long as you like the Arione profile it's a good one. I also agree with the other poster, the Regal saddle is quite nice.
If your bar drop is low then the Arione is better. But if you find yourself riding on the hoods most often and desire a slightly upward position in riding, the Regal is nice. It's got the wider profile that Brooks saddle fans enjoy.
I personally think it's a good seat...not too much padding to cause rubbing on the bum, and firm enough to stop rubbing. The Aliante while comfortable has a certain level of padding that rubs more than the San Marco.
The Arione is padded and supported just enough to prevent rubbing from over soft padding, while being firm enough to provide good support.
Honestly the Arione is probably as much a classic saddle profile by now as the Rolls/San Marco, Selle products.
It's a preference you will have to choose. It's not that the Alliante is a bad saddle, but I think the softer nature will make more friction. The Arione is just a touch better for distance. But you might find that not to be true.
I personally don't care for any saddle that has a horned profile on the rear, it ought to solid and profiled well.

At 5'7, 125lbs, I use a prologo zero nack, which is often compared to the aliante, love it.

I use the Aliante and Specialized Romin Evo Pro. Both are great. I am not a lard ass. I started using the Romin to shave some weight. I have two of each on bikes.
