Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have had good experiences on ebay until recently. I have bought close to 100 different items over several years time. Within the last 2 months got a Trek 2300 carbon frame that had damage to it that was not revealed, looks like a gouge in the clearcoat on the seattube between the waterbottle bosses. The seller said he did not notice it until he was packing it up and he said it does not affect the integrity of the frame. Did not offer me my money back. Still deciding on what to do about this. Then I bought a Performance Millenium + trainer, the ad clearly stated that the skewer was included. When it arrived in a box that was too big and had holes in it because of very little packing material, there was no skewer. This seller ignored my e-mails. I am waiting on PayPal to make a decision on a request for a partial refund. Both of these sellers have 100% positive feedback. I may try the six months thing on feedback to protect my 100% positive.

As far as feedback responses, I have purposely left some very bizarre ones.

I think my worst was "happy panda give happy feedback ^_^ kekeke!"

It has become a lenghty thread... lots of GOOD advice if you are seeking your own personal revenge, I feel there's lil or nothing to add on that sector...

But if you want to leave the room without fighting, remember this one: "Cut your losses and move forward" which - in its variations - was already well summarised by tovaritsch Lordopie and Woodpie...

Better luck next time.

This is exactly why it's so important to read feedback on ebay. The percentage means nothing - ignore it and actually look into the feedback.

In this case - the seller's "you too fat" response would have been enough to send me to that back button.

Feedback is there for a reason. If people used it properly, lots of crappy sellers would give up selling because people would stop bidding.

I see the seller retaliated and cycleprincess now has two negatives. Oh well. Hopefully it's a lesson learned.

And I'm dismayed at the person who avoids sellers over 1,000, and is wary of those over 500. I've got over 800, but I'm nowhere near a powerseller. Yes, many volume sellers are best avoided, but not everyone with high numbers is a powerseller. Some of us have simply been on ebay for a long time.

For those of you who use Firefox and want the extension that compiles negative feedback, it can be found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/extension...nfo.php?id=560

Ooh, looks like he did the vengeance feedback thing. TWICE.
Of course, I'm evil, so after he did that the first time my second feedback would've been more along the lines of:
"SCAM. Sells clearly used merch. as new. His positive fb's are fishy. Say goodbye to your cash."
