Music is a funny and powerful thing. It takes me back to places and times I liked or did not. Today I went for a spin in the Corvette and had ELO blaring. I liked ELO when is was maybe a freshman in high school but caved to pear pressure and swore them off for AC/DC and the like.
I am old enough now not to give a crap. ELO rocks.

Casually Deliberate
Shaw Butte Trail #306 I did the up and back instead of the loop and it came to 2.8 miles hiking, 850' elevation gain. Up was amazing, adrenaline-fueled, "Top of the world, Ma!" On the way down, I understood why so many people have walking staffs or trekking poles because that's when you find out how old your knees really are. Luckily, I had packed some Tylenol and a Red Bull and by the time I was back on level ground, I couldn't tell I'd done any hiking at all and I was already wondering about a trail nearby.

Oh! The bike! This was the first real ride with it outside and, uh, I think it's pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. With the new stem and bars, the fit is right where it needs to be, though I think the saddle might need to come up a 5-10mm. The frame/ISO Speed seems to mute the jolts nicely without feeling like suspension and the road-holding, for lack of a better term, over bumps seems pretty exceptional. Can't wait for the road to widen and the debris to clear so that I can slap the skinny wheels on there and get out on a good ride.

My manual says to check the primary anode rod every so often, too. Ain’t never done that on any of my water heaters.
