Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Peloton of nude bicyclists, downtown Seattle

A few hours ago I was riding my bike southbound on 5th Avenue downtown, and when I stopped at the light at S. Jackson St., a large group ride ( 50 - 100 people ), almost all of them completely nude, a few wearing g-strings, went by headed up Jackson. Anybody in Seattle know what this is all about ?! Is this a new Cascade Bicycle Club group ride ?

That is gross...Glad you got no pics...and some of us think riding in regular shorts encourages chafing...this takes the cake...
talk about sniffing the seats..they need be condemned...and properly disposed of.....Once in awhile I get my shorts ruffled on the horn when I sit down too low...can you imagine being a guy...maybe good for birth control.

I had a set time to ride, no matter what I was doing as long I was not at work... Unless I had a big test, etc...

I'm all for al fresco nudity, but bikes and dangly bits together means the scope for a tragic accident to occur is infinite!!!!

Comments about 'nice helmet' or 'nice crank' will also take on a whole new meaning.

A) If you make the slightest mistake it could mess you up pretty bad.

B) This could seriously **** some little kids heads if they see a bunch of naked hippies shootin down the street.

That's generally one of the points of activism like this. A naked person in this culture is seen as automatically being an object of sexual desire and not a human being. I didn't think they looked bad, just realistic.

even worse with the folding apparatus in a full-suspension mountain bike, if something vital got caught in it at an inopportune moment.

I don't mind other people doing it, I just don't understand why they would want to sit on a rock hard saddle on their bare asses.
