Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah I'm totally with the others on this. I ride clinchers for the most part too, let me get that out of the way first. But I just can't find hardly any reference to Pros riding clinchers except for the really odd times.

Now maybe if you define a pro as someone on the local bike team then maybe, just maybe, you'll find clinchers. But i reckon that's about it. I've researched time and time again and just don't see this changing.

I know we all wander on these posts. But the OP was about racing. Not riding, training or how practical they are.
Subtle difference, but real. Sagan and Cav have come on local rides and they have ridden clinchers. That does not mean they race on them, which was the question.

And then there is the pro definition.

OH please Doge, give me a break. That's like the pot calling the kettle black. Go look at your 3rd post in this thread. I mean jeesh, some people's kids.....

I fixed that. The most-of-the-time qualifier was not good enough I guess.
But you are right, I should have stuck to racing. And maybe the OP could have defined pro.

I think, most think of pros as the WT teams. The ones we see in the TdF and the guest Pro Continental teams that get pulled up.

But then I thought Road cycling was on pavement and used bike with curved handlebars, and not everyone agreed.
