Personal best for metric century . . .
The Chamber of Commerce in a nearby town sponsored one of those Saturday morning 30/60+ mile rides this morning over rolling terrain. There was quite a crowd of riders, and as we rolled out at 8:00 am it was quickly apparent that it was going to turn into a race. My son and I locked in with the fast group at the front and we didn't stop until we rolled back into the CoC parking lot almost 63 miles later.
When I looked at my computer and did the math I was pleased and surprised: 62.9 miles in 2 hours, 33 minutes and some change, with an average speed of 24.57 mph. Riding with a fast pack certainly helps (a lot!!), but I still think it's pretty good for an old geezer!
