Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another vote for the Rapha Classics. I personally prefer the more compressive fit of the Pro Team training bibs, but I also have their classic bibs and love them. I've also decently enjoyed my Specialized RBX bibs which are half the price as the Rapha's, but riding them back-to-back there's just no comparison.

Going a bit OT.. anyone tried the Oakley endurance bibs? I see that PBK has them well discounted.

Still actually wondering about these, or Oakley's cycling clothing line in general. Anyone tried any of their clothing?

I'm thinking at this price, it may be worth picking up a pair?

I wear Assos. After almost 40 yrs of riding and using all manner of gear, I broke down and bought a pair of Assos bib shorts on sale. They are perfect for me.

I have a couple pair of RedWhite bibs, they’re pretty good, IMO.

I second the red white motion - make sure you sign up to get a 20% discount code. I'm not sure they're as long-lasting as my assos though, but I do enjoy them (I have two pair.)

Great bibs: Assos S7, Castelli Free Race aero (the air x2 chamois pad is awesome), Giordano FRC and I'll include the red whites in there as well.

I've got a closet full of other bibs that are basically trainer duty bibs, including the black bibs (I'm NOT a fan), Sugoi, pearl izumi, craft, descente (although I like these, they're just a bit odd fitting)

Assos here also. The mille can be found under $100 (have been through 3) and I ecently got a T. Cento for ~$140 at swissiconic. The Assos work far better for me than anything else I tried.

I used to like the Voler Black Labels (2 bibs & 1 short) but now they are only used for the shortest commutes. I have had one pair of the castelli endurance which were OK but fell apart after 9 months. Never tried any of the others mentioned but I would like to try the 7mesh mk3 which gets great reviews. I have one of their rain jackets and its great.

I really like Assos and have been wearing their shorts for a year and found them very comfortable for 4-5 hours. I have just ordered a pair of bibs for the winter... Assos of course!!!
