Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Vintage Titanium to New Carbon bike?

Hello - I just want to gather opinions on if you would see any noticeable differences going from an old race bike to a new one I'm considering purchasing. Will be using for some sprint tris and weekend rides up to 40 miles. I'm leaning towards not a ton, but I don't know very much.

Old Bike - 1996 GT Edge Titanium with Dura Ace components - 19.8 lbs

New (maybe) bike - Canyon Endurace CF 7.0 with 105 components - 17.8 lbs

Thanks!

Same boat as you going from a old litespeed to a new trek domane sl with full Ultegra for $2k. Disc brakes will be better and ride quality will be different

Difference will be subjective but the old bike won’t be holding you back significantly.
