the POC, or plain, ordinary cyclist, has these characteristics:
- he/she rides his/her bike
- he/she enjoys haveing a good quality bike, but doesn't define him/herself by it.
- he/she will occasionally wear pro team jerseys, especially if its from an old team that once had a big star like marco or mario on it. a typical poc pro team jersey will be the saeco jersey with white side panels.
- the poc might have a nice pair of ksyrium sls, if they came with the bike, or if he/she got a good price on them. the poc might also have a set of american classics, and almost certainly a set of wheels built on open pros for heavy roads and off season riding.
- the poc will usually have more than one bike, but rarely more than four. one of the bikes will be a modest commuter/city bike that he/she can lock up.
- the poc has a good relationship with his/he lbs, knows the staff by name, and usually get the "friend of the shop" discount.
- the poc would love to ride an exotic bike, but usually rides something high=performance and affordable like an oclv trek or a litespeed.
- the poc enjoys fast group rides, races a bit, and takes the sport seriously, but doesn't take him/herself too seriously.

What's one step BELOW this POC level of yours? You know, without the jerseys and racing, someone who rides with basketball shorts and a T-shirt (but still logs >100 clicks per week).
Whatever that is, is me.
