discounts on 2002 models
When should I start seeing some discounts on 2002 models? Do they discount when the 2003s start coming in or not?

Around here -- Montreal -- you start seeing discounts on hard-to-move current-model-year models in late August. The outgoing model year as a whole tends to be discounted in September and October... but the discounts are rarely very deep.

We just put in our preseason order for our 2003 bikes. As soon as the manuf. ship them, and we can assemble them, we'll be discounting the 2002's!

If you do some research you can get discounts right now. I just bought a 2002 Trek X01. I had found out that the 2003 model was now available to be ordered at the same price as the 2002's. When I found the bike I wanted in stock I asked for a discount because it's already a last years model. I got $80 off and a 10% discount on all my accessories! Don't be afraid to ask, the most they can say is NO.

Monday I bought my new 2002 Allez A1 Sport at $175.00 off, plus 10% on accessories, free adjustments for 5 years, etc. The 2003 models have already started hitting the racks here in the Evansville area. I agree with the above, ask and negotiate...deals can be had...
