Why so serious?

I can't imagine, LAJ. I've ridden some epic rides over the years and quite a few where people thought I was insane but I think that i only did a couple centuries in the 25-35 ranges and that's enough for me. Both that I did, ended with the last 25 miles in a medium heavy snowstorm and in both cases, I really thought I was going to make it home.

So... chapeau!

Grandmothers are cooking wizards. Give them a cast iron skillet, some flour, some bacon drippings or lard and watch them do their magic. :thumb:

Disclaimer: My grandmother died in 1987 at age 95 so she's probably not the average grandmother here.

I'm going to start building a Murphy bed today. The wife and I are moving downstairs in to what is currently my office so that the kids can each have their own room upstairs. We were talking about this last night when I mused to the wife, "man, this is going to be rough on the little girl - she's going to hate sleeping in a room by herself."

"Oh, well the boy said that she can still sleep in there with him."

"wut."

"Yeah, he needs more space to himself, but he doesn't mind her sleeping in there."

"So we're going to leave her bed in there?"

"Yeah."

"But she's 'moving' to the other room?"

"Yeah."

"And all of her blankets and pillows - I suppose those need to stay, too?"

"Well, obviously."

"And her 87 stuffed animals and dolls to protect her from bad dreams?"

"Yeah, she'll want to keep those in there, too, I guess."

"Okay.... and her books for bedtime stories?"

"Oh, well, yeah, I suppose those stay, too."

"Got it. But she's 'moving' to the other room?"

"Yeah."

So yeah, as near as I can tell, this'll net the boy the additional space currently occupied by the girl's dresser aaaannnnd... yeah, that about all I'm coming up with. And all I have to do is give up the primary space where I can unwind until such time as we should move. :bday:

It’s never really your space, you know.

I feel your pain. Interested in how the Murphy bed turns out

I got this kit from Rockler -

https://www.rockler.com/i-semble-ver...tress-platform

At this point, the hope is that we're going to move to a new development, maybe next fall? If that's the case, I'll probably build out the case but not do much by way of embellishment unless I get bored (or if the wife passive-aggressively hints at it). After we move, I can put it in a guest room and then trim it out to match built-ins and whatnot.

We missed the 500 murder mark bu 40 min. But between 12:40 and 4:30 am 10 people were shot. 3 or 4 died.

Gotta get a jump on the pace if you don't want to come up short again.

bampilot06 01-02-21 11:10 AM

Had a pretty rough crash this morning. Car pulled out enfront of me but it just happened to be intersection I needed to make a left turn so I had already started slowing. Not sure if I hit the brake again or what. Saw the car and the next thing I know I was on the ground and I was no longer attached to the bike.

Looks like my elbow and left hood took most of fall. Knocked my left hood a little crooked and my elbow and hand are starting to hurt. Destroyed my toe covers not that they were really working anyways. Somehow my chain got knocked into my wheel. I was worried the hanger was bent but shifting seems to be ok.

Only other thing that i have noticed so far is my front brake is rubbing and sporadically. I took the wheel off and checked to make sure everything was tight and put it back on. I thought it was good and then randomly it started rubbing. This was on my bike stand and without me touching anything but spinning the wheel.

Just picked up new shoes and booties.

Is that right? I was planning on visiting Onondaga soon, but now I may hold off until it freezes so that the eagles are forced to the south end.

Mojo31 01-02-21 11:19 AM

Sorry to hear that Bam. Hope nothing serious to you or your bike. That kind of stuff scares me.

Meh, I was feeling the roman numeral thing had run it's course, getting kind of boring, and a change of pace was in order. It seemed that if one was going to jump off the roman train a good time to do it was when the value was an even integer (80). :)
