Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Remember that time you were debating on whether you should get that sofa that converts to a bed? You made a good choice.

This whole thread has me ROFLMAO Taken out of context, most of the post here are about getting your butt "tapped" if you know what i mean. I guess my mind is just in the gutter, but at least the gutter is funny as all get out.

oh, and NO touching another guy's butt doesn't make you gay. yes i've kissed a guy friend of mine as a joke. (actually to win some contest, IIRC) I'm very comfortable in my heterosexuality. Also, i could care less what other people think about me. being in marching band for almost 10 years and changing clothes in a cramped bus with 60 other band nerds really does a lot for the "not caring what other people think" mantra

Ugh. I could never kiss a guy friend, even if nobody was around to see. Not to win a contest, not even for money.......well, it'd have to be a LOT of money! It's not so much the gay thing, it's just all around gross. Now, women....women are soft and lovely and don't generally have coarse stubble above their upper lip, so it's much more palatable to me the idea of two female friends kissing (like my ex-gf and her friend). Actually, I've heard many a hottie speak of this recently, experimenting and so forth, seems to be getting more popular and acceptable among the younger generation chickies....

wait a sec, did I/we stray off topic just a bit????

The strict rule is, if you touch it for more than 2 seconds, you're playing with it. Any less than that you're fine, no worries.

exactly!! Just because people don't feel comfortable doing something like that to a guy doesn't make them uncomfortable with their sexuality.

I once read a university study that tested a group of men that had strong anti-*****exual attitudes and found they had much higher propensity to get aroused from watching male *****exual images than men who didn't have such attitudes. So just because you are repulsed at the idea of displaying what you think might be an overtly *****exual act, doesn't mean you don't have latent *****exual desires. So the theory might have more validity than you might think.

HAHAHA! That's way too long. I'd say 0.5 seconds and you're all good. Any more, and you're feeling it too long.

This reminds me of something that happened to me a year or so back. I was on my mountainbike, riding home from school, when someone in a car reached out and touched my ass then drove off. P***d me off, because it wasn't an attractive woman, it was bunch of maori kids trying to be funny.

I have bisexual leanings and don't paticularly like the idea of touching another mans sweaty ass, so there.

You guys crack me up! The mix of serious and tongue-in-cheek replies is hilarious.

One question to add to the general hilarity: to the gay guys here, would you feel straight if you tapped a woman's butt?!?

So if I start tapping womens butts as I ride by I will be more straight.. I should experiment with this.. You think the women will mind.. does that 2 second rule apply.. if so I should make sure to keep my hand there atleast 5 seconds right? I want to be straight as possible

You don't want someone touching your butt? Fart on someone's hand. Nobody will go near your butt ever again.

It's a good tactic to go with a wink and smile just before you start the final sprint in a Cat 1 race. Find the best sprinter and give him a squeeze. Guaranteed to improve your placing.

Call me what you will, but I must confess a reluctance to touch another man's butt, much less a butt in tight lycra. And yet I see so much of it in cycling. Repeatedly during the TDF I see riders touching each other's butts. Even during my group rides it seems to be a common mode of male affection.

Why not, say...a tap on the shoulder? A pat on the back? A pat on the back is something I can more easily warm up to. Just not a sweaty lycra butt.

Better yet, what about Intolerance of Intolerance of other peoples culture.

So much of that. I mean we're a culture that "is supposed to accept and tolerate the killing of babies and other activities that go beyond what I care to describe" and yet some of us are so offended by people who may be uninclined or opposed to these ideas.
