Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Riding Regions

What is the best area of the country for riding and racing? I am from Massachusetts I was wondering if there are cycling hubs out there.

From reading this forum, it seems like the Pacific Northwest is the place to be. I've spent some time in Oregon -- not cycling, unfortunately -- and it would be at the top of my list of places to go for a cycling trip. Next would be Utah or Colorado (red states, yuck). But you're in New England and that's not bad either.
