Orbea Dauphine
I'm considering buying an Orbea Dauphine. If any of you have any opinions about, or experience with, this bike, I'd love your input. Thanks.

i think it's a bit pricey. I have the Shimano WH-550 wheels, which were about $280 for 1900 grams - I imagine these wheels retail for about 200 and weigh 2000+. Not a great wheelset for a $1900 bike. I'd also like a carbon seat-post. The Zeus AC fork weighs in at 520 grams. I'm really curious to know how much this bike weighs in a 56, and i'd like to know the frame weight.

Also, I really don't think Orbea's look to hot on the net. They definitely (like most bikes, but esp. the orbea) look better in real life. That airbrushed paint job is really pretty.

Is the Dauphine a new model? I see it on the Orbea USA web site, but it doesn't seem to be in the 2005 catalog that I downloaded...

Just save up some more money and get the Onix, or better yet, the Orca. I ride an Onix, and am extremely happy with it. I would agree with the comments on the wheelset though. I have ksyrium(sp?) elites, and love those. The Dauphine is a good bike, but you could get the Mitis with carbon seatpost, and I think it looks better than the Dauphine.
