Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New build or replace frame?

I have a bit of a dilemma whether to replace my destroyed 2021 Supersix frame (hit by car) or pick up a new Chapter2 Toa frame.

It’s been half a year and I’m still waiting for a sign from Canondale’s crash replacement program to hook me up with a discounted frame. They don’t seem to eager to offer up anything. So, I can pick up a used 1 year old Supersix Ultegra for around 3,300 USD or move onto a new frame and salvage the parts. Everything else is in decent condition to build onto a new frame. Slight problem exists with the Canondale hologram crank and handlebars not being very compatible with other manufacturers so it would be though to transfer those over.

I’ve been eyeing the Chapter2 Toa and they are recently offering their handlebars including the frame for about 3,100 USD. I would just need to purchase a new crankset. Although I would have loved to preserve my Hollogram crankset as I have brand new left crank power meter made for hologram crank.

Any advice would be helpful. What would you do given this situation?

For reference, I’m including the Chapter2 reply re: crank below…
Cannondale BB30A is 73mm vs. the TOA's 86.5mm, therefore the spindle will be too short.

You'll have to ask an experienced Cannondale dealer for advice if the spindle can be changed on a Hollowgram crankset. Otherwise you would have to use another crankset to work with the TOA.

Waiting a year and a half seems long enough to me, doesn't seem like they are gonna step up so to speak and honor whatever the deal was. Up to you to determine how much to chase them, but I'd move out unless of course I had other machines to ride. Life is too short for this BS.
