Only my front rotor shows signs of bluing, which is not surprising since I use the front brake more and with much more force, since I generally don't want to lock up the rear wheel and skid.

Not sure what you think is unlikely about the discolouration (from iron oxide forming on the surface at about 300°C) ) being only visible near the braking track and removed from it by the brake pads, given everything that you and others have said.

Im surprised that there is any discoloration (I guess the consensus is that it is an oxide?) Im surprised that any formed, and since it is not uniform on the braking surface and because I haven't done very much with the front brake yet, I dont like to believe that it was everywhere. The bike is less than 20 miles old.
That being said, it does make sense that it is happening all over the braking surface and just being rubbed away. My gut tells me this isn't the case, but I do not know. If others say that its likely that the discoloration is likely happening elsewhere on the rotor and just being rubbed off by the brakes, I would listen.

You only have to heat it once to create it.
It isn’t on the braking surface at all, because the pads have removed it.

Look down the rotor edge as you pull the brakes. You can see where the pads make contact.

I agree. A light application of grease will reduce friction and the resulting noise and heat. As with rational thought, education and social skills, some find braking overrated.

The last bike I bought get 13 miles on it just from riding home from the builder's shop. They day after I bought my IF, I rode it 85 miles.
In any event, you did that to your rotors after only 15 miles and, like, two days? I smell something.

It’s a brand new bike from a bike shop, and it was ridden like 20 miles or something when that pic was taken. How unusual is this? Is it indicative of misalignment, and I shouldn’t be riding it in case it messes things up further?
of course I’m going to bring it back to the shop, it’s a matter of time though, they’ll have to fix my old bike so I have something to commute on. Can’t afford to leave this bike at the shop overnight. This is what it looks like now, maybe 10 miles since the last pic? Also, are fingerprints and grease from hands bad for rotors, like should I wear gloves if touching? I just touched it by mistake

How far is the shop from where you live? Most shops will look at it right then. (There probably is nothing to fix.) When did you notice the color change?
