this problem is puzzeling me......
i just purchased an fsa os140 stem and an fsa rd250 bar...i installed them onto my bike and i now have play in the fork when i use the front brake...if i am completly stopped and hold the front brake the fork rocks back and forth....its and fsa headset as well..the fork is a cannondale slice premium full carbon for minus teh drop outs...im afarid to torque the compression bolt any more in fear of breaking anything...i didnt think it was that much of a deal installing a new stem and bar...

It just sounds like headset is loose a little bit. Certain headsets require a little more torque than others. Just keep tightening it and make sure the handlebars don't get stiff and still move freely. Just don't really torque it down.

thats the problem it feels asif im really torqueing it now....not enough to hurt anything but im surly torqueing it enough.

when installing the headset and stem, you need to tighten the cap bolt on the headset and then torque down the bolts on the stem. Once the stem bolts are torqured down correctly, I like to back the stem cap bolt about a 1/8 of a turn just to take the pressure off the bolt but it is still tight. make sure you have enough spacers so the cap is sitting on the spacers and not the fork's steerer tube.

fog rider if i could kiss you right now i would...(im not gay im just happy as a lark rite now). that was the exact problem...to much of teh fork steerer sticking out of the stem ...i put a larger spacer in and it is solid as a rock ....thanks again fog rider...
