Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Enve cage strong grip + tight fit = must stop to drink

I have those on my gravel and would never buy them again. They scrape bottles, not very easy in and out. I have Bontrager RXL (bought off of ebay for ~25 a piece) and they been great for ~5 years now.

Let us know if and how bad it scratches your bottles.

I have a set of amazon CF lightweight cages and they look great but they do damage my bottles pretty bad.

I will say this: For all their flaws, the old Tacx Tao cages were phenomenally easy to load without looking. Folks who couldn't hit a basketball free throw when standing on a ladder 6" away from the net could still drop a water bottle into the Tao cage with their eyes closed.

Another vote here for the Elite Custom Race cages. They're inexpensive, light weight; look good and they're functional. There's a colour combo to suit almost any bike. Function wise, they have just the right amount of flexibility to hold your bottles in place while also being able to get them out while riding. Whenever I've built a new bike or needed to replace bottle cages, these are my 'go to' unless I can find something better for that specific bike.
