Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

IRD B2 Carbon Drop Bar

I was wondering if anyone has tried these bars yet. They look like they are light and comfortable similar to the FSA K-Wing bar. I imagine they would take some getting used to but in the long run would be comfortable.

Sorry, have not. But if your considering dropping that kinda of change check out Winwood Scholar carbon bars at universalcycles.com. Last time I checked they were $190.00. Look suprisingly like the IRD. same mfg., different badge?

I swapped out the FSA K-Wings on my Six13 for the Windwood Road Scholar bars. The RS is very similar to the IRD B2's, but much cheaper. The RS has a shorter reach and an anatomical drop that doesn't cause my forearms to hit the tops. The RS also has a sweat spot that runs into the hoods. Two drawbacks to the RS bars are no internal cable routing and a significant slope from the stem to the hoods.

That bar looks amazingly like the IRD bar, but the IRD does have internal routing. The price I am getting on the IRD is not a lot more than the Winwood Scholar Handlebar so with the internal routing I think I'll go that way.

MerckxMad what didn't you like about the FSA other than your knee hitting?
