Indeed. Too much bike stuff. As bad as cricket. So what's the weather prediction for Saturday?

I had a good night, warm up race wasnt too bad, used my head a bit as I could tell I had nuthin in the tank. The leadout in the 2lap hcap was perfect, even though I almost blew it by pulliing up in the back straight cause of leg pain with no-one within 150m :p
And a slight improvement in the flying 200m left me a happy man..

Oh yeah and its my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Darth even managed a place

How much fun was it watching Michael smash the track record only for Grant to retake it by 2/100th of a second?

A two-and-a-half hour special on the recent Jayco Bay Classic series of street criteriums held in and around Geelong, Australia, has been moved to a new time slot of this Sunday at 1pm. Initially, broadcaster Network 10 had scheduled the Bay Classic special to be screened on January 22, but this would conflict with TV coverage of the final stage of the Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under.

sure was, in that headwind too, both under 12 secs for the first time. Amazing.

Using this site http://www.weather.com.au/nsw/newcastle , which I always rely on to be 100% incorrect, it looks like it's going to be OK.

According to www.weatherzone.com.au we are gonna get wet.

And from the Bureau of Meteorology
Warm and humid. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. North to northeast winds.

I reckon it'll be just dandy :D

Funny how a dead calm settled on the track just as Grant entered the finish straight :) Some guys have all the luck.

I managed to beat Cass Kell's time this time round, thank gawd. Don't think I could've taken it if I'd been beaten by a girl again!

Now If I could just find a way to knock another one, maybe one and a bit, seconds off my time...

climbo 01-11-06 03:50 PM

how far are we riding? I am still planning on a go-slow SS cruise to the beach if I make it.

Nah, she's just returned from her annual sojourn to Planet Ugly where she received tips on how to be hideous and repulsive from higher order alien beings like this one:

I think we need to go down and practice some technique, magus was 1.2s faster than me, that cant be right..?
I'm gonna put a speedo on the track bike and check max speed on entry etc.

I'll be there, so you can pretty much count on a slow pace. You and Jock have both ridden with me, so you should know what it's like. Either bonk or puke. Although I will try to remember to have something to keep my blood sugar level before we leave.

Depends on how Expat's training has been going, but the route will definitely be as flat as. I reckon we'll be lucky to cover 30km if we stop for any length of time for coffee or to perve on beach volleyballers.

Conditions were as variable as the results. Look at who you beat: Paul Worby, Peter Holly, Jackson Pratt. All lightning fast, but like you and me and a bunch of others not enough power/endurance to keep the legspeed up into the buffeting wind.

I watched Peter Holly's run from the back straight and he was dead-set flying for 150m. Then it was almost like he was doing a madison throw as the wind stole his legspeed with every pedal stroke. I couldn't believe how much impact it had on a big strong bloke like him.

Yep, I saw Holly flying and get a slow time, then Jeff came thru lookin avg and destroyed my time by close to a second !!!

Holly was spinning out his gear he reckoned, but on the 2 lap hcap when he gave me the lead out, I was waiting on him to get going, could have gone past him in the first couple of pedal strokes...strange!
u up for a training session tonight? track that is, not at the elli!

pshaw 01-11-06 04:57 PM
