OSPWs
Yes, I know it's bling, and won't do a thing for my riding, but if one were to buy an oversized pulley wheel product, which one would you buy and why?
|
Ceramicspeed is the premium option. Kogel is a great brand too, US mfg'd, offers nice colors and stuff.
I will eventually replace the RD cage on my TT bike with a OSPW system. I recently replaced the RD jockey wheels on my trainer bike (11s 105 rear mech) with Kogel. Went through their customer service chat and had a great experience. |
Agree with CeramicSpeed. It's a bit poseur but if you want it, why not? If you are going to do it, do it right.

Red won't go with my baby blue bike. :(
That said, guys who ride baby blue bikes are the manliest of all men. |

Your choice to be slow, I guess.

If you have an 11-speed short cage RD, this one: Ceramicspeed OSPW Aero Shimano 9100/9150 and 8000/8050 Coated – Bike Closet
I do, but on a non-aero bike with endurance geometry. At $150, maybe I will buy and install one just to be contrarian. |

I had OSPW envy until I purchased my 12 speed SRAM red equipped Specialized SL-8. And the shifting is flawless after 4500 miles. My advice is make sure the OSPW mod does not impact the shifting and go from flawless shifting to yeah it works most of the time.

How much should ones overall bike be worth before putting a $1000+ pulley cage on it?
I can't even believe that I just typed "$1000+ pulley cage". |

It does not matter. Having one of these cages shows that one is serious about going fast. Just like a Honda Civic with an Apexi Dunk exhaust and Michelin Pilot Cup tires, where the exhaust and the tires are worth more than the car.

This is EXACTLY. What MikeDeason needs in the XXL version. Then street racers will know he is serious and not laugh and kick sand in his face.

Might as well install a micro-spoiler while he's at it, keep maximum traction in the rear to harness all those watts.
