I need to buy one that's wireless and measures cadence.
I'm looking at less than 50 bucks.
Does such a computer exist?

While the speed function is wireless, the cadence feature is wired on this model. I don't know of any totally wireless solutions at your price point, maybe someone else does.

usually the distance from the crank to the mount is too great for the cadence bit to be wireless. specialized makes one also, but theirs is likewise wired for the cadence sensor. if you get a flight deck you can use the virtual cadence monitor which calculates your virtual cadence from your speed and gear... doesn't work so well coasting downhill.

I dont think so, I would recommend the Cateye Double Wireless Cadence one, but that is around $100 online. I have heard really good reviews. Mine is on the way.

Polar CS200 has option for wireless cadence

I have the CatEye double wirless... bought it for around $100 from my lbs in June and like it so much I'm getting another one for my road bike.
It is really a wonderful device.
I also use a Times Ironman HRM and both work fine with no cross-interference.

Except that he didn't ask for wireless cadence.

Don't fear the wire. Buy an Astrale 8 and you won't be sorry.

Ditto on the Astrale 8. Don't even notice the wires and it works like a charm - all for around $30.

I must say, I have been using it for about a week now and I love the Astrale 8. No problems whatsoever, I also love that you can display cadence with the huge number so you can constantly monitor this..

Ive been working on my cadence and this is a must tool in my book. Cateye makes a wireless one too but its like 100+ and ugly IMO

no wireless cadenece for under $50.

The wireless computers under $50 are what they are...like the less expensive Polars they are not coded so they can be really inaccurate. Other wireless systems will bleed over into yours, same as if you are using an A series Polar next to someone else who is also doing so...you can pick up other transmissions.

the nicer ones, like the Cateye CD300DW are coded. One of the resaons why it is more expensive (typicly over $100) is it has a coded and stronger transmitter.

You get what you pay for. I almost always tell customers, if they want cadence and do not want to go over $100, get an Astrale.

Don't overlook the Peformance computer with cadence. I had both an older version of the Astrale and the Performance unit and I liked both.

I almost wish my wired unit would croak, though, so I could move on to the $100 double wireless. It's not that I mind the wires at all, but even just saying "double wires" gets my geek blood pumping.

The Astrale 8 is great, does everything the CD-300DW does, and being wired, you only worry about the one battery in the head unit. I have both and like both equally.

Does anyone know if the display on the Astrale can be flipped, so that speed is the larger number and cadence the smaller? The pic on the Performance site shows cadence on top.

Yes, I have this on my bike. It's not under $100 though. In fact, with the wireless heart rate and cadence sensor you'd probably be up around $150.

I really like mine though. If you can stretch your budget to get this one I recommend it.

He asked for a wireless computer that measures cadence. Wireless means no wires...not the speed sensor is wireless but everything else has wires. That isn't really wireless now is it?

Who worrys about battery life? Havent replaced a computer battery yet. Havent replaced a battery on either of my FD's. It just shouldnt be a concern.

Yes - the top display flips back and forth between cadence and speed only with one of the buttons. The bottom display shows you either cadence, speed, distance, max, average, odometer, etc.

Well, the Astrale 8 only monitors current cadence, while the CD-300DW also monitors average and maximum cadence.

Also, the Astrale doesn't have a pace arrow, which I've become quite fond of on my mity8. I'm probably going to spring for the CD-300DW.
