Flight Deck Gear Display Problem

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Flight Deck Gear Display Problem

I hope someone can help me. I just installed a Flight Deck and have programed in all the gears. For some reason, the rear gears display in reverse. I have Ultegra 9 speed on the back and the range goes from 12 - 27. When I am on the 12, the Flight Deck says 27 and fills in the large circle. As I shift gears, it shifts one for one. If I shift up, the Flight Deck shifts down. Anyone ever seen this one before? I have tried resetting, taking the sensor off of the shifter and then shifting to the other gears, but it goes right back to the same thing, basically showing the exact opposite of what gear I am. BTW the front works great. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

You may have to reset the Type of Deraileur to a Traditional (111) rather than the Rapid rise (222)

That was it!!! Thanks, I never would have thought of trying that. Went for a quick 6 mile ride and started to get used to the Flight Deck. Now if I can just quit looking down between my legs to look at the gears!

Glad to hear it worked out for you.

When I first used the Flightdeck, I too didn't quite trust it and continued to look back at the cassette. After about a week of that I had stopped looking and totally trust the Flightdeck indicator now.

It's a nice feature.
