Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dude, I was going like 50mph when I crashed. Nobody that is round can go that fast on flat ground.

Dude, if you can do 50 MPH on flat ground unaided by drafting or descending a big hill, there are some pro teams that will sign you up.

Damn, you would've really given us something to talk about if you made a typo and left out the word "by" in your subject...

Wasn't my family, there are 4 of us, and we're generally cruising flats at 24+, although the 11 year old daughter sometimes drops down under 20..

Hey Penguin,

I ride . . . I mean, pose . . . New Paltz all the time.
Feel free to blow past me anytime you want.
That'll be me chillin' with a brew at the Gilded Otter, with full kit and my Ti bike
I got from the Bike Depot two doors up on Main St.

Gilded otter has awesome food, and the bike depot is a great place. If you're up in the area after my bike is road worthy again we should go for a ride. Ever do the tuesday night rides around here?

Similar experience for me. I had already ridden 4 miles and then I passed some big, ole, fat, slow, Scott CR1 riding poseur wearing a $85 KOM polka dot jersey and Assos bibs. Meanwhile, I was slumming on my piddly sub $4000 carbon/ti Lemond and old skool 2004 Descente bibs. Just shows that it's all in the engine.

Please!

Please!

Please!

Let's move on Now. Let's not give this guy over 140 replies and over 4,000 views
like we gave that intellectual claiming to have "Dropped 3 Guys On Litespeeds"
recently. These guys start these posts for the attention. Period.
They'll sacrifice their reputation and "good" name for 15 minutes of fame. It's just
for the attention. If we stop giving it to them, they'll stop making these silly posts.

Please!

Let's all repeat after me:
"I won't respond to any "drop" or "blow-by" posts anymore".

Let's all view the posts, so he gets his 4,000 views, but all 4,000 refuse to respond.

Then maybe these mindless posts will cease and these guys will return to being good
citizens again.

Hey, I got nothing against Penguin, don't care if he's a legend in his own mind. It gave Kirke a reason to show us her new joisey. Very cool.

Umm, I think you missed the point, the OP was just poking fun at the people who post all of those "drop" or "blow by" posts. You know, fun, that thing we do to, well, umm, well, have fun. Or, he blew a poser, I'm not sure which.

Man what is it with you people. A female's actually willing to talk to you people here at bikeforums and everyone's all over her to see her pic.
I've been here for ages and I've yet heard a single one of you ask to see my butt! And you know what, I work hard for this, I think I have one of the nicest butt's out there, it's firm, it's smooth, most girls would kill to have a butt like mine, but do I see anyone asking ME to show it? NOOO!

Thanks

Yeah, he was just clicked in at 600 watts, roughly 20 mph. It was probably his yellow helmet straps that made you teach him a lesson.
