Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I grew up in Chicago. Another great ride is The Long After Twilight Ends (L.A.T.E.) Ride.

Yeah, I've known a few people that did it. Imagine 10,000 riders, all riding hammer-down, nobody having any common courtesy, all pretending to be Patani in the TdF. Yeesh!
Nope-not for me.

Can't speak for the New York ride but the LATE Ride was anything but that.

Hi,

I have done that ride for the past 4 years. About 30,000 people of all ages participate. It's really nice. You get to ride on many highways and roads that otherwise you can't ride on. My favorite is riding across the Verazzano bridge. I wish they would make a bike option so that people could normally bike across that bridge. The tour is overall great, however sometimes it gets really slow at a few points because there are soo many people.

Are you referring to the DVP ride? Or is it something else?
