Like THAT question? :D

By the way...the question mark goes inside the quotation marks, and you don't need the period there. :D

I am a man of contradictions. I say wear whatever you want and I wonder why anyone even cares. Personally, I wear base layer shirts and baggy shorts or knickers. I'd feel like a poseur in a team jersey and have always prefered my own comfort to looking like everyone else. That said, if you want to look like a pro, you better darn well be able to ride like one. My feeble ego has always enjoyed dropping poseurs, and been made more brittle when the poseur turns out not to be, and drops me.

AHHAHAHAH Every post after mine pretty much included the same information in my little list. So predictable. And there were those whining about my post. Pfft.

Yea, I couldn't be bothered with actually trying to know that :p

Yea, but it's always the people trying to 'teach you a lesson' that are slow as ****. :D

Ahhh Grasshopper....it is in the details where all truth is revealed. :D

Okay, okay....I'm bored...and I am going to bed now. You're still alright in my book mirona....always have been.

Cheers,

Here's a new one for you Mirona to add to the list: girls have fewer choices for non-zany-floral or plain colored jerseys unless they buy small guy jerseys. There are notable exceptions, of course. We're just so dang pleased to have a sleeveless option we daren't speak louder about our disatisfaction with the overall limited choices ...

SpongeDad 09-24-05 08:57 PM

I regret that I can't find a nice 2004 US Postal Jersey in my size. At the time, I didn't want to buy one and have other riders think I looked ********.

It took me a year to finally remember that I think most people are dumbasses anyway, so why should I care if the morons think I look ********?

So my advice to you: Embrace your inner ****** and buy what you think looks nice.

Starclimber 09-24-05 09:11 PM

Well, assuming you don't plan on entering races wearing the rainbow or polka-dot or points jerseys, nor Discovery/T-Mobile/Jittery Joe's, etc....buy and wear whatever pleases your eye and fits your budget. You earn those jerseys by plonking down YOUR hard-earned cash. Wear'em with a big grin on your face, and when someone makes a disparaging comment, laugh out loud. "Oh, I didn't EARN this jersey? Well, no, I BOUGHT this jersey, come home with me and I'll show you the receipt." Hell, I wear MEC jerseys...cheap, fit well, decent materials...and I bet I'm sneered at for wearing THEM. You can't win.

R900 09-24-05 10:57 PM

I would buy and wear what ever jersey you want. Many are very cool. I don't think it matters if it's an active team jersey or not. Many college teams sell team jerseys to help raise a little money for the program, so while you may or may not look like you are on the team, at least you are finacnially supporting it. The same goes for pro teams or clubs. I have a hi-vis PI jersey, US Cannondale, Rails to Trails, Ohio State, and a couple generic Specialized jerseys. About the only jerseys I won't buy are local bike shops. Around here they sell for almost $90, plastered with the local shops logos, etc... All for free ads. I think they should either sell them at cost (closer to a Performance price point), or give you one when you buy a bike. The profit margin on a $90 jersey has to be huge.

I'll be wearing my Team Discovery outfit when I get my new roadie! :D Friends bought me the jersey for my b'day this month and I bought the shorts to compliment them :)

GrannyGear 09-24-05 11:09 PM

People....its just a piece of clothing. Nothing so important as the type of cable end you use, etc. Personally, I like those funky, obscure, narrow in the shoulders invariably with stuck zippers Italian club jerseys in orange or yellow on eBay.

Gangrel 09-24-05 11:29 PM

i wear the jersey of the LBS i go to.. im not a member of their team, but ill be a billboard for them any day.. theyve saved me a ton of money over time, so i advertise for them as much as possible

Soccer Jerseys make good shirts too for riding. I prefer Chelsea and Arsenal myself.
