Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Since this post I've actually talked to a guy who owns one. Now he's a big fan of Cervelo (dealer), but he no longer likes the Prodigy after riding it for a season (most of a season). He was riding less then 10 km per hour and hit a parked car (he knows because he was looking at his computer instead of looking up), it totally crumpled the downtube! He had to fight for months to get the frame repaired under warranty, and when they finally agreed they couldn't fix it so they replaced it. Needless to say he doesn't trust a steel frame as thin walled as that any more. Now the Soloist on the other hand is a work of art, a different breed than the traditional Prodigy, but I bet you won't find another bike anywhere with a true "airfoil" downtube.

Don't know anything about the prodigy, but two of the guys in my club have the soloist with dura ace and they are sweet sweet bikes. I'm sure they would recommend them.

If you say so. I wouldn't feel right buying a bike that'll crumple at 10k.

a friend has the super prodigy (I think its called), the one with the lightweight thermachrome steel frame, full Campy Record, Reynolds fork. He loves it and recommends it to people all of the time. And it is light, sub 18 lbs.
